lacquer

For us lacquer is a passion. We work with the same Urushi vegetable lacquer as the Japanese masters of this ancestral art. The process is demanding and takes several months, with the steps of sanding, polishing, and drying repeated for several layers. Entire books are devoted to this craft’s patience and exigency. The resulting emotion experienced when one beholds these objects is rare. Observers often linger in admiration, unable to peel away from the material’s finish and overall effect on the object, the experience lived is intense.
